New Delhi pointed out the EU and the U.S.' trade relationship with Moscow. India said it was being "targeted" by the U.S. and the European Union over its imports of Russian oil after U.S. President Donald Trump in an overnight social media post threatened New Delhi with much steeper tariffs.

President Trump said on Monday he will raise tariffs on India for buying and selling oil from Moscow, arguing that the country doesn’t care about the Ukrainian casualties from the war with Russia. The president didn’t say how much the tariff will increase on India,
