SRINAGAR: Lt Gen DS Hooda (Retd), the former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command, has said the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead is undoubtedly horrific but unlikely to reverse the overall gains made in Jammu and Kashmir over the last five years.

The roots of this decades-long conflict between India and Pakistan go back to the turbulent partition of 1947.

The security forces have intensified the anti-terror operation across Jammu and Kashmir after terrorists killed 26 people in the UT's Baisaran valley on April 22.
