The Chicago Bears have worked hard to improve their offense this offseason, utilizing free agency, trades and the NFL draft to plug some big holes in an attempt to make things easier for quarterback Caleb Williams heading into his second year.

Williams, the former No. 1 overall pick the 2024 NFL Draft, has had a mixed camp to this point. He's flashed moments of promise but remains inconsistent, a reality Johnson has acknowledged by essentially treating him like a rookie given the overhaul from the previous regime. The Bears open the preseason next Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Chicago Bears special teams coordinator Richard Hightower was emphatic that, in Ben Johnson, “we’ve got a good head coach here — a damn good head coach.”
