The Phillies finally broke through against Skubal in the bottom of the seventh. After six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts, Skubal gave up a single to Bryce Harper, a double to J.T. Realmuto, and a two-run homer to Nick Castellanos to cut the lead to 5-3.

Tarik Skubal won his first game since June and Javier Baez homered, doubled and knocked in four runs as the Tigers beat the Phillies 7-5.

Skubal is looking to repeat as AL Cy winner. The Red Sox' Garrett Crochet, Twins' Joe Ryan and Astros' Hunter Brown are his closest pursuers.
