Hamas will release on Monday Israeli-American Edan Alexander, believed to be the last surviving U.S. hostage held by the militant Palestinian group in Gaza, a spokesperson for the Hamas armed wing said.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel has not agreed to any ceasefire or release of prisoners with Hamas, but only to a safe corridor to allow the release of Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday.

President Donald Trump and Hamas have announced that Edan Alexander, the only U.S. citizen among the living hostages remaining in Gaza, will go free after the Trump administration negotiated his release.
