Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the Connecticut team said to ESPN that a deal was reached to relocate the Sun to Boston for the 2027 WNBA season, but that the sale by the current owners, the Mohegan Tribe, and the move still needs to be approved by the league's WNBA Board of Governors.

Connecticut Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti confirmed Sunday that the team plans to play at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2026 after a deal was reached Saturday for a Boston-based investor group to buy the franchise and relocate it there for the 2027 season.

The Mohegan Tribe purchased the team in 2003, known then as the Orlando Miracle, and became the first owners of a WNBA team outside NBA owners. Rizzotti had positive things to say about the Mohegan Tribe, noting they've "tried to do what's best for not just this team, but for the league as a whole."
