Paige Bueckers finished her career at UConn as a national champion after only losing three games in 2024-25. She is now joining the Dallas Wings in the WNBA, and she knows her expectations need to change as she begins her rookie year.

Last season, the WNBA experienced huge swings in game attendance when Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever came to town. It was revealed that when Clark played WNBA games, the average number of fans was 15,591, compared to 7,645 for games she did not play.

Bueckers is just a little less than two weeks into the start of her first WNBA training camp and preseason, and has focused on building up chemistry with a mostly new Wings roster and staff. There’s not much time, though, with the season set to open on May 16, when Dallas plays West champs Minnesota at home to open the season.
