The Coast Guard has suspended its search for seven people believed missing after a panga boat overturned Torrey Pines State Beach.

The human smuggling attempt off the coast of Del Mar in Southern California left at least three dead, including a 14-year-old boy from India, officials said.

The five people, all Mexican nationals, were arrested after a vessel carrying migrants capsized and killed at least three people near San Diego, the authorities said.

At least three people are dead and seven others, including two children, are missing after a "panga"-style fishing vessel washed ashore near San Diego on May 5, authorities said. Crews responded to a report of the overturned vessel off the coast of Del Mar shortly after 6:30 a.m. local time, officials told KABC-TV.

Crews were searching for survivors. It was not immediately clear how many people were on the boat, a small, open, outboard-powered craft.
